Student Life

Student experiences

Learn more about Austin Catholic High School's house system that creates unity across the grade levels.

The Austin experience is built upon our strong community. Students engage in experiences that foster a strong sense of self-worth, leadership, and respect for others. In keeping with the Augustinian focus on educating the whole person, a wide variety of enriching extra-curricular activities are provided that integrate into each student’s Austin experience and empower hands to serve. In addition to focusing on academics, students are encouraged to engage in the vibrant student life program through clubs, activities, sports, retreats, service, and faith development.

Clubs & Activities

Our program of clubs and activities, for which faculty and staff serve as moderators, helps promote a sense of unity and family (community). Also, studies have shown that students involved in extracurricular activities, like sports or clubs, actually do better academically and are more involved socially at school and in the community. Activities and clubs meet during the school day and/or after school.

Faith and service

The Austin Catholic High School Campus Ministry program’s purpose is to build a strong, healthy Christian community based upon the ideals of the Gospel and of the Order of St. Augustine by focusing on the core values of Truth, Unity, and Love. The program is intended to help each individual recognize his/her own unique gifts and talents and to develop those talents to their fullest potential. The students, along with the faculty and staff, constitute a faith community, which seeks to grow in love of God and neighbor through the process of education, participation, and cooperation as they spend time together in the Austin environment. The Campus Ministry Office provides many opportunities for each student to enrich and develop his/her spiritual life. Throughout the course of the year there will be Mass, celebrations of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, formal prayer opportunities, opportunities for individual prayer, and retreat programs.
