Dress Code
Austin Catholic expects our young men and women to be dressed for academic success. We believe that the appearance of students reflects their preparation for learning, their focus on study, and their desire to prepare themselves for adult life by conforming to a standard of dress and appearance which reflects their commitment to their education. The dress code is meant to teach discipline, to enhance self-esteem, to breakdown social economic barriers, and to prepare students for professional careers. The young men and women of Austin must realize that they represent the values and education of our school in the public. The 2025-2026 Student Parent Handbook addresses the specifics of the dress code on pages 43 – 51.
Reminder–Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, female students are required to wear a black dress shoe on all formal dress days. Sneakers and Sperrys will not be permitted on formal days.
Acceptable footwear includes:
- Dress flats
- Loafers
- Oxfords
- Mary Jane-style shoes
- Doc Martens allowed
Additionally, mule-style shoes and UGG boots/Tasmins are not permitted on any dress code day, including spirit wear and dress-down days.
Male students are required to wear dress shoes on formal dress days. These updates are intended to ensure consistency, fairness, and clear expectations for all students.

School Blues Uniform Store Basic Uniform Requirements 2026-2027
The Crusader Corner – school store has spirit wear, gifts. School ties are to be purchased from the ACHS store.
Online Spirit Stores – at the beginning of each sport season, ACHS works with a sports uniform company to create sport and school spirit wear items. Links are provided by the Athletic Department via FACTS email and are posted on our socials and online as well.
* Students who do not participate in dress-down days must wear regular school dress. Students who violate the dress code will receive detention and a demerit. Administration may require students to call home for a change of clothes if their attire is deemed inappropriate.
Dress-down day attire must be modest and school appropriate. Mule-style shoes, Uggs, Crocs, slides, cropped or low-cut shirts, and jeans with holes or rips are not permitted.
