Rooted in Community, Called to Serve
Over the weekend, our very own Mr. Langolf and his family traveled to Maryland to visit relatives and spent a day in Washington, D.C., taking in many of the city’s historic sights.
Before the trip, Mr. Langolf reached out to Abigail, an Austin Catholic Class of 2026 alumna currently serving at the U.S. Naval Academy, to see if she was available to meet. On Sunday, they had the opportunity to meet Abigail, her dad and sister in Annapolis for ice cream and spend a couple of hours catching up on her experiences at the Academy.
It was a special opportunity to reconnect, hear about Abigail’s journey, and celebrate her growth and commitment to service. Mr. Langolf and his family are incredibly proud of Abigail, and Austin Catholic is proud of Mr. Langolf for his dedication and commitment to staying connected with and supporting members of the Austin Catholic community.
His willingness to invest in our alumni and continue those relationships beyond graduation is a beautiful reflection of our Augustinian values. We are grateful for the connections that make the Austin Catholic community so special—and proud to see those connections continue to grow.

Austin Catholic Receives Blessing in Anonymous Gift of New Vehicle
On Friday, Aug. 14, Austin Catholic High School received a generous, anonymous gift of a new vehicle — a true blessing for the Crusader community.
President Allison Hoover and Monsignor Mike Hrydziuszko, treasurer of the school’s Board of Directors and the Archdiocese of Detroit, joined together to pick up the new vehicle. It was a wonderful morning filled with gratitude and excitement.
The gift reflects the generosity and care of an anonymous donor who believes in Austin Catholic and its students. Several members of the team gathered around the vehicle to pray for the safety of Austin Catholic students and to give thanks for this meaningful blessing.
Austin Catholic is incredibly grateful for this generous gift and the many people who helped make it possible. The school’s hearts are full as the community celebrates this blessing and the care it represents for its students.
