Austin Catholic Students Answer the Call to Serve

Several Austin Catholic High School students spent July 5-11 serving others during the Catholic HEART Workcamp mission trip in Huntingburg, Indiana.

Through the weeklong service experience, workgroups completed home repair projects for elderly, disabled and financially challenged residents, including building small projects, painting and making needed repairs.

Beyond the work sites, students grew in faith through prayer, fellowship and reflection, living out Christ’s call to serve others with compassion, humility and love.

An Evening of Faith, Community and Augustinian Fellowship

Austin Catholic High School was well represented by Joanne and Board of Director Secretary Bill Harrington, Anne Berschback, Father Bernie Sienna, and President Allison Hoover at the Augustinian Gala on April 24, 2026, at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
In the spirit of St. Augustine, the evening celebrated a shared commitment to community, faith and the pursuit of truth. All proceeds support Augustinian vocations and men in formation, retired and infirm friars, and missions in Peru.

ACHS's STEAM Senior Capstone Program Garners Media Attention

This story was aired Thursday, April 23 at 5:45 p.m. on Channel 7.

Austin Catholic High School’s senior capstone STEAM students have drawn media attention following the December delivery of a 3D-printed prosthetic arm to a third-grade student. WXYZ-TV Channel 7 reporter Evan Sery visited the school to interview the students and STEAM coordinator Laura Hayden, who guided the four-year project to completion.

Coinciding with the visit, seniors were scheduled to teach underclassmen how to design and produce similar prosthetic devices, supporting continued development of the program. Information about the broadcast will be shared with the Austin community when available. Here Senior Capstone Student Abigail Glynn explains both process and function of the prostetic arm.

The broadcast date of this story will be posted here.
